Celebration Of Life aka entering my new decade, the ‘FOUR OHHHHH

It’s very apropo to blog about candy during this orange and black season. For my 40th Birthday, I receiveda fine basket filled of RETRO candy. I wanted to savour it so I didn’t open it until this past weekend.

The first one I ate was Lotsa Fizz. It is the candy when you bite into it, it foams in your mouth. Who remembers this fizzing candy?

Back to chit chatting about my new chapter.  Like I said, celebratiing and the planning for the new path before you shouldn’t be just on your “birth” day.

I came across an article I really like. I’m not sure who wrote it. To paraphrase, during one’s 40s, most women acheive new levels of power in their professional lives. With strength training, you can match and fuel your professional power with an exciting  surge of physical power.

Here are some thoughts from women about their journeys.

“Getting strong has made me more secure and confident in so many different areas of my life. It’s great not to feel weak and helpless anymore.”

I think this one is my favourite: “Strength training helps me cope with so many everyday things- carrying groceries, cleaning my house, everything!”

With our very busy lives, we always need help and we should’t be hesitant to ask for help!

Thought I would give you a little update on this warm, sunny day in May about 4-OH situation. I still feel the same as when I was 39, 34 and 20 for that matter.  No miraculous change yet. Who knows, I might wake up one day as a whole new person but then again I might not. I recently found this quote, Renovate!(your inner spirit and your home). A fella named Michael  Ruhlman is the author. “He believes you should acknowledge your core self. He explains how to rekindle  your inner spirit by making a permanent change to your dwelling- inside or out.” Since it’s ‘supposed’ to be spring, well, with temperatures like this it is more like summer, one usally does spring cleaning. With starting my new chapter or beginning, I’ve decided to make some changes not only in the inside but out as well. On that note, I’m working on something so when I know I will share…

Let the festivities continue! Celebrated with a dear friend who was entering the 4-OH milestone as well. We have been friends for 36 years! Wow, it was a great time had by all. We started out with Tex Mex and then headed out to hear a live band. She has no fear either about turning this age. We both look at as a new chapter or new beginning!

40 Things To Experience When I Achieve My 4-OH Status!

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

Alice In Wonderland came to a theatre near you on March 5th, 2010, the same day I kick started my “4-OH Festivities”! When I saw the preview,  It was definitely on my list of 40 Things To Experience When I’m 40!

Last night, I saw Alice In Wonderland not only in 3D but at an Imax theatre. Being surrounded by sight, sound and special effects makes your trip to the cinema worth your buck! Not only is it directed by Tim Burton but Johnny Depp is the Mad Hatter. As usual, they don’t disappoint. The actress who plays Alice, Mia Wasikowska portrays a determined heroine. Without divulging too much about the plot, it is based roughly around Lewis Carroll’s book but 13 years after the first tumble down the rabbit hole. To my delight, I found it was a treasure trove of eye popping fun! As it’s a tale of Alice’s self discovery, I came out feeling proud to be a female and reminded of myself a bit. Good job Tim Burton! When I have time and go to movies in this day in age, I want to be entertained and I sure was! I left having my funny bone tickled and my eyes treated with a unique vision of electric images. If I could, I would go again and take my seven year old nephew!

My rate: A for Apeeling!

Here’s a sneak peek!
